I have a problem with the courtesy lights not turning on when the car is unlocked. They all work fine with the manual switch, but are not automatic. You know how most cars have a plunger on the door frame to turn inside lights on, well I guess the AU's run on the computer somehow. Is this a correct assumption? Can't quite down-load diagrams as we live rural, and the speed is non-existant for files like these.

You don't say which model you have but firstly check the fuses. There are two that run the courtesy lights positions 10 (5 amp) & 11 (15 amp). Yes you are correct the courtesy lights are controlled by the BEM (body computer) located behind the centre console, but I'd be going for the easy things first such as fuses or a globe that is out and possibly shorting. Cheers

..Thanks. Have checked everything and fuse OK. The boot light won't go for some reason. Someone said that the boot light is the computer circuit lamp (??) and the car won't start without it. Surely not. I wonder if it is related to the courtesy lights.
