Default Nissan GTR

Cone of silence engaged.

The new Nissan GTR will be made available to Australia for sale in 2009.
No actual date, pricing or content details at this time.

We live in interesting times.......

Pass the cone!

Seriously though, any reason why it was not going to happen? Seems they had a more global focus this time around.

RRP will be interesting, M3 range perhaps? $150k?

suspension by Lotus and tuned by Cosworth, should be a weapon.

Considering the R32 GTR cost as much as a house when it came out, I'd expect the price tag to still be beyond the average (he hehe here's the funny bit) BANG FOR YOUR BUCK import lover.

This news has been out for a while on SAU. In the thread over there they have approximate prices.

That is supposition and wishfullness, like the plethora of new GTHO threads that have been popping up on here and FF over the last 4 years.

Their release date is wrong. The rest is guesswork.

Can't wait to see one in the flesh

About time Nissan brings the goods to Oz. Apart from the 350Z they have nothing here at the moment.

According to Mellor the Japanese pricing will equate to $77,000 Australian.

If it is that pricing it will be a tasty proposition. I wonder if the V6 will be as good as the RB26DET?

You can double that by the time it lands here though. Compliancing costs, plus import duties, plus GST, Luxury Car Tax, onroads etc. Sti's and EVO's are pretty cheap in Japan.

Agree 100%
Id put 150k towards a house.. But then again the people who have that cash to splash probably wouldnt blink an eye at 150k (lucky buggers)

It's worth noting that Australia was the only export market for the original R32 GTR. I didn't think $110k was over the top at the time, given that it was about the same price as a Merc 300E. Not to mention there was a couple of million dollars worth of work making the car comply with ADRs they had to recover too, which would have added $10k to each car's cost.

Lol at Dave, that's ok I don't think you are the target market! Nor am I for that matter.

At around AU$150,000... it can be a bang for you buck. It's slightly quicker than the 911 Turbo around the ring.

The Nissan GT-R has got BIG shoes to fill though.

I didnt take pics.............. didnt look anything fancy.......

Didnt have the trade mark Cricle Tail Lights that you see on the 2 doors........

GT-R with 4 doors? not happening i'm afraid, they were all two doors. And all skylines have the stove headlights.

Would certainly be in the market for the next GT-R after owning a nice 32 'R' but i'm a typhoon man now, no going back!

Was this it?

That's a Skyline 350GT (or Infiniti G35 in North America). Not a 'real' skyline as we've come to know it (no GTR, no ATTESSA 4WD, no turbo model, no straight 6 engine). Basically comes with 350Z 3.5L Engine. Never officially sold in Aus, most are imported from NZ (which are of course imported from Japan through Nissan dealers).
