OK how to do this without being obnoxious or begging ??????
I’m sure all of you know of the relay for life? If not it’s pretty simple most areas around Australia have a relay at some point throughout the year what is, they set up a track (usually the local oval or showground) and you run, walk crawl whatever around this track for 24hours, the one person doesn’t have to do it that’s why we do it in a team but basically your team has some one cutting laps for 24 hours, for the last couple of years my stations had a team and this year is no different. What’s different is I’m putting my hand up for sponsors This is the link to my team http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...d-Fire-Brigade I understand that we all give and there may not be any in the kitty, but if you want a few $ to deduct off your tax, stick a few bux on it for us would you we have a running battel with the Happy feet team so we need to raise more money than them and so far they are smashing us

Just threw 20 bucks your way. The page asked for the team member to support, so I just picked the first name on the list.
Good luck with it!

With a week n a bit to go I thought I would hit you guys up for a donation again.
This is the 4th year our Team has participated in the relay for life, and as a team we have had a representative walking for the whole 24 hours so do the Old Yeti a favour and donate to keep the fat barsted walking http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...d-Fire-Brigade Every five minutes, another Australian is diagnosed with cancer. While survival rates are improving every day, cancer remains a leading cause of death. To improve this statistic I ask you to sponsor our team. Our team is passionate about tackling health issues and being proactive in the fight against cancer. Everyone's reason to Relay is as unique as their own personal story. At Relay, you can find healing, comfort, and support from others who have faced cancer or who have lost a loved one to the disease. You have a chance to meet people in the community who are equally as passionate about finding an end to cancer in our lifetime. You can thank all the people who have done so much to support you through your personal cancer experience. And you can gather together with friends, family, and colleagues to laugh, cry, and create lasting memories. Opening ceremony Bernie Cinders going Zumba Cra-Zy With some of our RFS brothers & sisters

I'm Retained FR NSW (was NSW FB) haven’t had volo's for ages, basically we get paid a retainer per fortnight and an hourly rate for calls.
A lot of career guys have a job on the side, retained guys just work in reverse. for me it works great my day job is pretty good money, but its in the office all day, then my side gig is on a BRT, I did it for free with the RFS from 89 - 2010 and I only applied for FR NSW for a change of seen the money doesnt really enter in to it (Its taxed at the maximum rate any how) Love the username BTW

Nope, not in NSW.
Saw the guy with the goatee in the photo, wearing station gear, and was wondering how that worked. ;) |

OK so before we started walking we had made our goal of $1500, and that doesnt include the money we have made through raffel tickets and cash donations, at 10:30 we started walken and selling stuff to raise more money, we aked for donations for kids to have their photo taken in the fire truck any thing we could think of to get more $$$$ (all the other teams were as well so it was all in good fun)
I didnt take many photos (I was nackered & so were my kids) but heres one after the hope ceromony and this is the hope sign as the sun was rising this morning

http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...d-Fire-Brigade is the link
Any how thanks to every one here that supported me and my team our team goal was $1500 and we managed to do that before we even counted raffel ticket sales and minor cash donations, our total was $2,773.20 MUCH better than last year So now some of you might be thinking $2,773.20 isnt that great, but when you look at the total amount raised at the Hakesbury Realy $159,720.83, ($59,720.83 more than our target) you have to admit that has to go along way in the cancer battle Once again guys thanks so much for showing your support

OK
It’s that time of year again ford forumers my station is once again registered for Hawkesbury Relay for Life last year my stations team beat our target by over 75% and that was a theme that followed for the entire Hawkesbury Relay as is it ended up smashing its target by $59,720.00 This year is the 10th year for the Hawkesbury Relay and the target has been set at $150k, why you might ask, well if we can get that we (the Hawkesbury relay) will have raised $1,000,000 and I have to say I'm rather proud to be a part of that Last year I asked you guys for help and the response was fantastic, so I figure, I'll do it again I haven’t started a new thread or anything like that, I think it’s best to keep here so those that support can see how much the Ford Forum members have helped since I started this thread Anyhow enough of that the link to my team is here http://relay.cancercouncil.com.au/20...-Fire---Rescue and remember all donations over $2.00 are tax deductable
