Hey guys, i got a set of AU pursuit rims and i put my old 225 X16s on them.
Now im takin it down the drags on wednesday and i just wanna make sure it is safe to run AU rims on the back of my ED. has anyone done it? They fit on the back tho, but i was told they have differnt toe in or some shit? When u try rotating them when there on the hub, it takes alot more energy to rotate them compared to the E series rims.. if thats useful? |

i can't see it making any difference personally...
if it was taking corners then i would imagine they'd be a bit iffy, but for drags they'd be normal. never heard of anyone doing it.

they sit in more closer towards center of car shouldnt make to much diff

Just get some washers from Bunnings and put them on the wheel studs to pack it out a bit.

just as long as they arent too close to the body or any other panel, and dont rub i would think they would be fine.

yeah i was going to do the rims at the drags..
another problem is im using my mag wheel nuts (which are quite long) and they stick out a fair bit on the AU rim... is that ok?? should i get some AUfalcon? wheel nuts or not? Will it be safe? |

just get some open ended nuts to put on as are on stock rims.

any tyre shop. I would recommend the new wheel nuts as you may not pass scruitineering with the long nuts.

AU rims have a different offset to E-Series rims. I'm not sure which way, but several tyre retailers have all told me the same thing. If you want to know the exact answer, talk to them.

I passed scruiteneering with a broken back wheel stud!
Changing wheel studs is a pain in the ***! 1 hour job for a $5 part!

ok raced and it was all good.
Just to clear it up, the AU rims fit fine, but they sit so far into the guards, makes the tyres look thinner. haha i used the mag wheel nuts which stuck out heaps, did burnouts and all that shit and everything was sweet. Cheers for the help!

does anyone know off hand how wide the AU / BA rims are? ive got some 16" competition tyres that i wouldnt mind fitting on to a set of rims just for use at the drags, and the au rims might be a cheap way of doing it!

AU rims are 16s mate so yeah they should fit!!
I was running 225/50/r16 on my AU rims. yeh got a 14.8 woohoo although its only 2kmh faster then my previous 15.5??? All due to my shitty top end caused by an ignition problem i guess.. it was dying on its *** everytime i changed gears so yeh once its fixed it should be quicker by a fair bit..

cool 14.8 sounds like a decent time for those mods.. i'm guessing its manual?
my engine is really rooted... i can only get low 16s at the moment and i have very similar mods to you |
