It all started back in December 2005, when I bought my first Ford. Yes it is true, I am from the Dark Side. The release of the BA was the event that nailed the lid on Holden's coffin for me personally, and I waited 3 years due to finances and the fact that I intended to mod. ORSMT was just out of factory warranty when I picked her up. I opted for the 90 day 5,000k warranty, and when that was up, it was time to play.
The first few mods were a boost guage in the clock bezel and a Monza cooler. The cooler was fitted in the driveway by my son and myself. It all came together and worked a treat. Power was added, but a tune was now needed. The boost guage looked like this, but I was never convinced, and only took a pic when I had it for sale. The next phase was Tune, and that's when I went to a local workshop I had seen in town. Aussie Car Enhancements. Craig was very helpfull, and has been at the forefront of everything I have done. With his help, and introduction to Chris at Bluepower, the T ended up with 236 rwkw. Only mods at this stage were cooler and BMC filter. Wheels were next on the shopping list, and I went with a set of 19" D'corsa Stellar rims. Also had the PBR upgrade done. |

It was time to go inside and do something about the bland icc, so a trip to ASL Logistics and some Fadi magic.
And this.... Became this with the addition of FPV Typhoon guages... The DVD player also fitted at ASL. And plays on the newly added colour screen. Some custom piping and a PWR expansion tank graced the engine bay next, and it was also time to fit some injectors and see what that can do with a retune. We now got 264 rwkw safely, as the valve springs were now nearing their limits. Last edited by ORSMT; 31-08-2008 at 05:40 PM. |

A trip to Heathcote for my first taste of a dragstrip. Jas (Redrum) and I had a blast.I can now answer all those "What'll she do" questions. I had nervous first run of 13.06 @113.26mph Win, followed by a 13.03 @ 113.04mph Win and shaky 13.26@ 111.94mph Win. Gave the car a break and a cooldown while I composed myself for a fresh assault on a 12...
Second session, and still nervous I changed tack and tried a higher rev on stallup. Fourth run was woeful, messed everything up. Went 13.38 @112.42 Win then I hit my PB for the day, with a 12.60 @114,01mph Win. A solo run completed this session, with a 12.80 @117.37mph then lunch. Third session saw my only loss for the day on the first run. Went 12.86 @113.46mph Lose Opponent ran a 12.31 @121.20 Well done Blown Commie SS. Followed this up with a 12.84 @112.02mph Win, and a final solo of 12.81@112.64. |

Next few mods were some Pole Position Auto products, the first release was the ECU cover. As always, supplied by Aussie Car Enhancements.
A nagging issue with rubbing between the bonnet and the custom piping had driven me near insane, so off came the Di Filippo crossover set, and a polished stockie was fitted. Ah bliss, no more rattle and hum... LOL A few more PPA products come online, and grace the engine bay. Enter one fuse box cover, and a power steering spill tray. Add one BF front bar.... Add some GT-P replicas... And she's ready for the Show Us Your Wheels show 'n' shine at Numurkah. |

Numurkah was a fantastic day, with plenty to do and see. Weather was almost perfect but a tad windy. We took out Best Club Display again, having won the previous year also, and were only 1 car off the Best Attendance Trophy too. But the day ended in heartbreak, as a freak accident with a marqee saw 5 of the ORSM cars damaged. Mine included. Shannon's were fantastic, and came to the party for all, and all rides were returned to the former glory. Best insurance company I have dealt with.
Some of the damages on mine... While it was in the shop, I decided to take advantage, and do some work. While the paint was from the same blend. I scored an XT bootlid, and a Ghia Garnish. And had the items added to the repair at my cost. No badges were replaced except the blue ovals. A pair of much needed new headlights supplied by The Dok (cheers Scott), and she was almost ready for the FPV day. The day she left the panel shop... 40 degree day too... |

A true labour of love there, looks like a lot of time & effort has been invested with excellent results mate.
The repairs all look good (compared to when I last saw it) & the bra is a sensible addition. Nice work!! Thanks for the mention Kev. _2:

Yes, in case some people were wondering. I had to re-build this build thread... So for those who replied to the last thread, no you haven't lost your marbles. I may have, but you haven't. Enjoy everyone, updates will be occasional.

Being a lover of the shaker, I had a fellow AFF member photochop one on my T... Now I hear Performance Shakers are doin' R&D on one for the 6... Woohoo... Maybe this won't be far off....

Whilst I'm not a fan of shakers on anything other than their original application (flame suit zipped up), I do think it looks better on the XR6 bonnet than on the XR8 bonnet, probably because it sits lower & is not overwhelmed by the raised section.
To have it operate independent of the bonnet on a 6 however will take some interesting engineering???? Go for it Kev!
