Default Legal Age??

Hey everyone. This may sound like a stupid question but what is the legal age to start drag racing in Victoria?? I dont want anything quick just a consistent, fun car to drag.

any help appreciated

You need to have your drivers license before you start racing mate so when your 18. I think a while ago Calder would let you race if you had your Ls but thats definitely not the case now. Go over to WA, get your license when your 17 and you can start racing one year earlier :

maybe if you join a club and get into that way ,i know up here at willowbank they run mini dragsters with kids driving them .there should be some special licence you should be able to get to race .maybe someone in the know ,might be able to steer you in the right direction.

This is taken from the ANDRA website:

"Junior Dragster Eliminator is a single class bracket catering for half scale dragsters using single cylinder side-valve engines, driven by competitors between the ages of 8 and 16 years using the ANDRA Dial Your Own handicap system over a distance of one eighth of a mile. An overall performance limit of 8.50 seconds is applied, with drivers between the ages of 8 and 10 years inclusive limited to 12.99 seconds."

As has already been stated, if you want to race your street car, you have to have a drivers license.
