Default Mobil "pay at pump" rant

Well, Mobil have lost me as a customer.

For those not familiar, with Mobil you can swipe you card at the pump to fuel your car, to save queing inside to pay at the register.

Now they have a $ limit on the amount of fuel the bowser will dispense, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS!!!

What's the point of having this facility IF YOU CAN'T EVEN FILL YOUR CAR UP!!! The pig with lipstick behind the counter said she would pass it on to management and promptly went back to stuffing her face with out of code twisties.

I'm sure there must be others out there who Mobil will lose as a result of this.

I could kill 10 rum and cokes, and it's only lunch time...

It was around $70-$75, in other words an average family sedan fill at current prices...

I've never had a problem. Where you trying to fill a truck?

Try this next time pay at the pump by swiping the card, put the petrol in, start to walk towards the store, ****bolt back to the car and drive off very hastily with lots of tyre noise. The other people filling up will think WTF!

Perhaps there is a limit of how much you can fill up on a credit card because of stolen cards. A bank savings card doesn't seem to have a limit?

Nope, only my BA GT...

Not keen on the Mobil credit card surcharge either, so Shell or BP from now on I reckon.

Hahaha, a bit rough mate - im sure she's a nice person

Seriously tho - i think you've got the jocks a bit twisted up over nothing here. What's wrong with going inside to pay for fuel?

I dont care if you're the busiest man in the world - 30 seconds to 2 minutes out of your day is not going to be a disaster.

Relax mate, you'll live longer. Go grab that rum!!

Well this is odd. I have put more than 70/80 bucks through the local mobil fill your own and pay.

I was told though by a friend who works for a mobil servo. if you swipe your card and it starts charging you then it will automaticly stop when you have no money left in your account. (or until you stop)

So if you try to fill up 100 bucks worth of fuel and you have 80 bucks in your bank account then you will only get 80 bucks worth of fuel.

There's one on the Gt Western Highway near Mt Druitt ... all the "petrol" pumps you had to swipe ... the LPG pump you didn't need to at all.

So I filled up to my heart's content. Mind you even though I squeezed in 90L ... it only cost me $45.
