Ok, well... Motor Mag in BFYB issue in sep04 tested the Fiesta Zetec, and posted it at 0-100 in 10.4. In UK, the Zetec S (which is the only 3dr fiesta with our 1.6L engine... making our LX awesome for the price) was posted doing 0-60mph in 9.9!
Motor managed a 17.7 0-400m... not bad when you consider you can get an LX for $13990 pulling those figures.... and when a Focus Zetec pulls 17.12 stock, thats only half a second quicker... yet, is it worth the extra $12000?

hehe depends what you want.
if i had the extra money i would of gone a focus. but yeh it just comes down to personal choice. 0-62 (0-100) would be 10 or 10.1 :P |

Hands down the Focus is worth the extra money - not just because I own one. It's bigger inside, bigger boot, safer in a crash, more stable in terms of onroad footprint, more powerful, more torquey, quicker, handles much more maturely because of the Control Blade rear suspension (a HUGE bonus) and is an all round much mmore refined, quiet car. If Bang for your Buck is what you're looking for, then the Fiesta Zetec beats it, in terms of fun, handling and speed per dollar. But in my opinion the Focus is definitely worth the extra spend for safety, handling, refinement, comfort, space and power. Fiesta is still Australia's Best Small Car though!!!! That's for a reason!!!!

Only the new Focus is safer in a crash. Yes it has got a bit more power and torque but the extra weight takes away alot of that advantage. The Handling of the Fiesta is amazing.
Also when a Fiesta ST and Focus RS where put on a track the ST pulled the same time as the RS, so that must be saying something.
