Anybody have any idea how much one of these, plus roof racks, would cost in L/100km on the open road?

I recently got a Thule Polar 100 (only a smallish pod) and did about a 700k trip and I've gotta say was pleasantly surprised as it had minimal impact on economy. Couldn't tell you exact figures, but would say not enough difference to notice. No wind noise either, but getting the bugs off em is another matter!! :

A bit off topic but may be interesting.
About 48 years ago (truly), I had a two and half litre Jag. I decided to carry an 8ft pram dinghy on the roof, stern forward. My fuel consumption went from 20 mpg down to 13 mpg. This won't happen to you as your proposed roof box has been areodynamically designed and tested. All the best |
