The fact that the firewall and pedalbox weren't really designed for manual. They're both too weak. The crap design of the power windows is another. I've had to replace 2 of them, after getting one repaired numerous times.

*deep breath*

Ignition coil location, dizzy location, sensors at the rear of log manifold, low hanging cat converter, no room for proper twin exhaust, SMARTLOCK, rubbish ECU, seat too high, steering wheel too big, diffs and gearboxes not strong enough, tiny brakes, umbrella-handle handbrake, cable operated clutch, weak firewall, weak pedalboxes, clutch fan, headgaskets, saggy bumpers....... need I go on?

I don't like it, I love it!!

I'm just aware of its faults, and I find them charming (as charming as processed metal/plastic can be )

I could rant on longer about why they're so good

Another one I forgot. EA-ED not being serpentine. Those skinny belts are pathetic. Also, if my car hits the rev limiter, once in a while it likes to throw the power steering belt.

EF's exuse for a ECU pin out which is 102 not 100, Dizzy to coil pack, then to Dizzy again! tendency to back fire though the airbox when on LPG with EL/EF, Serpentine belt tends to eat the Water pump, Smartlock is a 'Dumblock'

eat water pump? since when? and the backfiring on LPG is common on all vehicles with LPG, factory or aftermarket fitted

Well for me its messy engine bays in EA-ED, so pathetic with the amount of wires! Stock ride height, no inner wall in the drivers side of the boot, low hanging cat, clutch fan, 3 belt setup; I ended up throwing power steering belts weekly even if I drove the car slow! Weak firewall, shitty looking rims on earlier models, exterior black plastics fading to white, I don't like the colour coded B pillar either (gloss black looks heaps better!), amber front and side indicators look crap, crappy headlight projection; can't see at night!

Note: These are only problems I've had with my car, hence why I haven't mentioned head gasket and sagging roof lining.

But in saying all this I still love them, they look tough with the right things done to them and they can be cleaned up to mint condition!

I only have one dislike with my E. The steering wheel is huge. Apart from that i have no issues with it. I bought it 3yr ago with 141,000ks and it now has 158,000ks and the only thing ive replaced is the battery. It has never blown a globe or nothing.

Sweet as.

As John Lennon once sang " MOTHER MARY COMES TO ME, SPEAKING WORDS OF WISDOM, DRIVE A "E". :

I was in Super Cheap Auto tonight and seen a nice chrome and black leather SAAS wheel, i was tempted but Ky would've had a razz !!!
