Default aufalcon.com website content - idea

Hello, as some of you may remember, we used to have a bit more content at aufalcon.com and when the new website went online it was just a bit hard to find the time to re-enter it all in the new format.

There's also plenty of room for additional material and I'd like to propose a joint effort in asking members to contribute articles on modifying your AU.

My idea is, here is a quick list that follows and would each of you like to pick or add an additional item, and then write an article about the modification and send it to me (PM or email at andrew {at uplink.com.au? Images are optional, but must be well written and concise as possible.

Basically I'm looking for a "what is it", "how it's done" and a "what will it cost" (if possible) for each article.

I think we could get some good stuff done.

Thanks,

Andrew.

What about other content?
Can non mechanical articles be listed on the site
I'd love to do the ultimate AU falcon surface refinishing/detailing guide for those wishing to turn back time on their car

I'm talking about every surface of an AU except engine bay

Major points : Turning wiper arms, exterior trim and the bi plane spoiler exactly like freshly polished paintwork forever

Getting that fresh off the gun finish back without abrasives
Cleaning the pores of the paint
Leather care
And so much more

Even if this doesn't go on the web I'd LOVE a copy if it - the b pillar blacks and the wiper arms are a b**** to clean I think, haven't been able to find the exact right stuff....

Thanks for the positive replies everyone. I look forward to seeing some material and will have a go at writing some, too. I've made this thread sticky in the hope of generating more interest.

I have added the first one of these at aufalcon.com - a guide to external mods for the AU. It might be a good idea if someone could have a quick read and make sure things are correct?

I'm sure there's a few other things that can be added to the list.

One thought i had was to add a sub forum on here called technical information. It would be a read only forum listing all the commonly asked questions that we get, such as 220 motor, Head unit removal, ba brakes onto au, what oil, where to get bits, and ect.
This would hopefully remove alot of the re-occuring threads we have.

Cheers

a bit offtopic but whats happened to the aufalcon.com url... its no longer aufalcon.com which would make all the window stickers etc. pointless (aufalcon.com.au is still right_

The company that aufalcon.com originally got registered through holds the domain access info and they are not responding to our queries. I've sent three emails now and others have sent emails and they are ignoring us. It's very frustrating. Faceless American IT companies.... so it looks like it's gone.

*Idea for forums not site*
(copying from B-series)
could we get a "meetings and events" added to the AU Sub forums...
also a "Merchandise and Group Buys" wouldn't be a bad idea...

i think this would make au falcon a bit more social and alot easier to organise events etc..

Cam, thanks for your ideas. I have put them forward to admin for consideration.

One common request is for an AU technical info sub-forum. I have submitted this idea several times but there is going to be a restructuring of the existing AFF technical info areas and I am told we will have to wait for that.
