Reading LG's doco on resetting the ECU on AUFalcon.com, should this be done after I add a high flow air filter (identical to K&N) and a bigger snorkel?
And the snorkel, Tickford or Aunger (as in the picture)? |

Yeah, i'd do it. I do it periodically anyway.
Id go the Tickford snorkel because it looks like a factory fit.

I'd go the factory T series snorkel its only $32 from ford and fits straight in.

Umm ... the "Factory T Series" snorkel is just the XR8 snorkel.
The T series 3 had a pod setup as standard..not an airbox.

As the others said above, it won't hurt to reset the ECU, however it also isn't needed.
The EECxxx ECU's are all learning capable, so whatever changes are made will be adapted in a few 100k's anyway. The end result will be the same. Rick.

While everyone else here likes to reset the ecu I must be a guy which will say dont do it.!! When I had the cam first time round a reset made my idle crap.It would not idle. Now with the new dev 4 engine I wont be resetting it. In fact I am going to make a battery backup for my ecu in case the main one fails.
The ECU relearns even without a reset.So my advice is keep driving it. |

On saturday I'm getting a new battery fitted (15 min job they told me), will this reset the ECU? or is 15 mins not long enough to affect it?

15 minutes off the battery will be more than enough time for the "Keep-Alive-Memory" to be cleared...

 : what about the climate control after the new battery has gone in? Will it need to be reset or will it take care of its self? :

Well they fitted the battery and when they swapped it the ECU didn't reset, they had this battery saver thingo!! (you can see I'm not mechanicly minded...
 : )
