I just read this thread about bags of fibrous stuff found in a forum member's Escape
It reminded me of a post on another forum a few weeks ago looking for legal advice. The only thing worth anything that I've found in my Futura was the usual nest of coins under the back seat. That was a lot more pleasant than the bag of bananas down the side of the quarter panel in the boot. Urgh. |

Not my car, but I was in a workshop once and a guy brought a car in with a foul smell in the cabin and asked if we could find out what it was. Turned out someone had tied an octopus under the seat frame.
Not lucky, and not goodies, but definitely weird. |

I restored a Mustang a while ago and found 2 (used) and 1 (new, in the packet) condoms under the centre console. Must have a big night.

1x live 7.62 round rolling around in the spare wheel well of my Mustang, so much for border checks. Oh and some yank coins and a cd in the player.

Found a bag of cash under the spare tyre in an AU. It was like somebody's float from a swap-meet or similar, a couple of hundred in a variety of bills and change

Found a big diamond engagement ring in the map pocket of a newly purchased car, lucky I didn't vacuum it up. Thought what do I need it for anyway so took it back to the previous owner. She was stoked, had been missing for a couple of years apparently.

We had a young lady drop off her car to work after someone had a minor crash into the rear of her car.
Emptying the boot out among all her clothes and shoes were some fluffy handcuffs, dildos and a whip. |

Not so much inside the car but in a petrol tank on my XB. After draining it and taking it out I could here stuff rolling around inside it. Turns out there was a couple pieces of small gravel in there and a vintage matchbox car. Someone's grandson would have been shattered but knew better than to tell Pops about it - drove it for 2 years and never once heard them.

A large collection of porn magazines under the back seat of a second hand Centura I bought in the 80's. Oh and in the glove box of EH Panel Van inherited from father, a cleaning kit, carry handle and sight adjustment tool and other minor bits for a L1A1 or L2A1 Self-Loading Rifle but no actual SLR or ammunition . He never owned a gun while he had the van and I found this after he died so where it came from remains a bit of a mystery; perhaps he gave a lift a reservist or serviceman with an SLR going to some memorial parade while he was in the RSL and they left these bits in the glovebox.

Used to pull up back seats of taxis for lunch money in the 80s. Got the shock of my life when found 6k in notes. The driver came back next day in a panic naturally, turns out he had put it there for safe keeping cause his son was a druggie. They drove them hungry in those days.
The most I found in 1 taxi was just under $80 in coins, ty government getting rid of those smaller notes. |

Knew a bloke in the 70s who was a bookie.
He had rolls of cash stashed everywhere in his car. I always wondered what would happen if it got stolen. |

When I bought my car I negotiated a towbar into the deal. It wasn't a factory one but whatever it tows. The first flat tyre I had I found the towbar guy had left his trim tool to remove Christmas trees in the spare wheel well. It was a bent flat blade screwdriver with a notch in the blade. It's proven valuable over the years for more then just trim pieces. It's still no cash though.

wasn't me and not found in a car but a guy I know who worked for Telstra, then Telecom. He found almost 4 grand stashed in one of the service pits. Those access pits in the footpath with the cement lids on them. Presumably had been there a while as it was all "commonwealth of Australia" notes. I remember we decided whoever stashed it died, or they forgot where it was hidden.

Either that or they didn't want evidence possibly getting out. Still a sweet find. 7 years later I'm still happy with the trim tool I found. I use it at work. It's like s tiny jimmy bar. It helps get a real jimmy in at times.

Nothing news worthy, but the kids found 80x 10c coins hidden behind the rear seat cup holder. They thought theyd won the lottery

I worked with a guy and sent him to Rent-A-Wreck when he needed a car.
"How'd you go?" I asked when he got back. "Great. Had a fantastic weekend with the bird I'd lined up and found a bag of speed in the back that I sold for $300".
