Looks different to the concept car, front grille surround is body coloured, whereas the concept was the grey colour the front spoiler is. Also i think the rear spoiler is smaller on this version compared to the concept, but i may be wrong. Definately looks toned down, and definately looks production, good find.

Theres the confirmation of TRD's models at MMS. Seriously though, that Hilux looks like it was done in someones backyard, the wheels look like hubcaps, and the bodykit looks like a 5 minute cut-and-shut job. Still has a 4L supercharged engine, would be interesting to see the power outputs from that. |

Toyota make good quality cars, and that one looks a nice effort to bad its front wheel drive.

Really not a fan of some of the newer body style of some of the cars I've seen lately (VE and that Aurion).
They are deceptively big though, I always think they look a lot smaller than what they are when you get a bit closer. Off-topic, but the VE SS', especially when put next to the stock models, look quite nice. The only "newer" style of car I've liked. |

There will never be another rear wheel drive toyota family saloon. Why would they bother when they have customers queuing up to buy what toyota decides is good for them. And of course the "quality" and status that goes with driving a toyota. Toyota only make one vehicle that I would buy and that is a troopy. And that is being phased out for the FJ65(?), a soft IFS american SUV. Blah.
Front wheel drive is for people that see driving as a chore and a necessity, not poeple that take pride in how well they drive and actually enjoy driving.

That's not what I've been lead to believe Outbackjack.
As Toyota dominates more in Australia, Toyota JP give them more responsibility. I read a while back that someone was saying that eventually, if a RWD platform is what Toyota AU needs, then that's what it will get. Toyota are doing well in the market place with cars like Aurion, but imagine just how much more they could add on top of that by winning over RWD lovers with a RWD car. I'd expect the TRD Aurion to have a few different spec levels. Entry should be about 55k ranging up to about 65k for a top line.

I still wouldn't buy one though, it will be over priced and over rated like most toyota's.

What makes ya say it would be over priced? Most of the current domestic Toyota's are priced pretty well for their spec levels..

It looks nice, better than the VE Commo IMO (don't hate me LOL). I know it's FWD but I would like to drive it first before I pass any judgment.

The guy who designs the wheels needs to be thrown a beating. The Aurion wheels look similar to ones found on a VX Berlina and the Hilux wheels are about as bad as it gets.
