Default De-Focussing

It was a sad day today when I handed over the keys to my Focus after 5 years of enjoyable motoring.

I never intended to buy a Focus (I was actually looking for a Barina SRi :( at the time) but 5 years on I'd have to say the LR Zetec was the best car I have owned to date. I did look after it, only ever having it serviced by Ford, but it never let me down and it was great fun to drive.

It drank 4,246 litres of 95 and 98 RON fuel over 48,000kms for an overall average of 8.85 l / 100km (32 MPG).

Fortunately it has been sold without any other advertising than a post in the for-sale section of these forums, so I'm sure it will be in safe hands.

I think I have narrowed down my next car to a Mini Cooper or VW Golf, but will still be lurking on these forums thanks to our family hack - the BA Fairmont.

On my driveway for the last time...

All the best!

MK

They look great in black!

Well after 2 months of trying since I got my 06 LX, I finally 'de-lancered' today! Big relief!

Just thought i'd post in this thread guys since my sister (with my assistance LOL!) is now the proud owner of this car.

Thanks to the very helpful Mick who made the buying experience a breeze despite my haggling (well a man has to try no??) and i think it is a great little car to own. I've driven it a bit since we've had it and its heaps of fun and quite zippy for a little package.

Also i must give credit where it's due...the focus was in imaculate condition. As a detail pervert i had to give it the royal treatment (full multi step process with wash, clay, paint clean, multi layered wax, tyres, glass, interior, trim etc. etc.) and to be honest it was like given one my own cars a yearly overhaul. And that is saying something.....

Here are couple of quick picks of its post detail. I could have just given it a detail spray it woudl have come up 99% as good but given my sister is not so into car detailing as i am i wanted it to be nice and prepped with long lasting wax (from dave at waxit.com.au forum sponsor) so she would only have to focus on maintenance from week to week etc.

The Focus looks absolutely IMMACULATE. One minor enhancement would set it off and that's Ford Clear Side Repeaters. Other than that Black 3 Door Zetec's are rare sights indeed.
