Default Rocket Industries still in the 1970's

Am I alone in thinking in this day and age, it is extremely odd, that Rocket Industries, one of australias biggest importers and distributors for performance parts, doesnt have a real website with accurate prices and the ability to purchase online?

Where I work I just cant sit on the phone to NSW waiting to make an order, and by the time I get home, they are well shut. Surely in this day and age its ludicrous not to try and sell as much as you can to as many customers as you can.

VPW & summit keep winning my business off Rocket purely based on this issue. I mean seriously, should we have to print off a form, and FAX it to them, simply to receive a printed catalogue(Which I only assume has prices in it)? AND pay 20 bucks for the damn thing to be printed and delivered to me by mail??

Wake up! Time to evaluate your business model and step at the very least into the late 1990's.

I agree a big business like that should get upto speed asap. As for VPW & summit I would love web address for both of them, as I like looking at performance parts. :

yes I need to waste my time on my days off(Which happen rarely) on the phone to NSW, when I can order equipment from summit while at work over the internet, and have the order arrive in 7 days which is about the same turn around time frame for gear from sydney. that makes total sense.

I think it is so they can have the multi level pricing (could be wrong). If you ring up as a cash sale ( I have no account, Sir) the prices are generally poor.

I have never got a price from them that I have not been able to beat elsewhere.

www.summitracing.com

They are a U.S company, very easy to deal with, and they send you free catalogues!! You don't even have to ask, I get 2 or 3 a year, they just randomly show up in the mail box LOL .

Aus performance dealers have alot to do to catch up. Many people who don't live in either a captial city or eastern states won't even think of buying from these places. Loosing a significant amount of sales there i'd suggest.

Whats intresting is purchase from summit+postage+insurance+customs can work out cheeper than buying localy.......odd

Why would you bother getting anything off these rogues, The way the Aussie dollar is at the moment Jeggs and summit get all my business. Alot of stuff I've enquired about normally isn't in stock so they have to order it and then add there middle man fee to it! At least when I order overseas I get firm pricing, firm shipping and its delivered straight to my front door usually quicker than stuff from Oz. :

I rang them about my B&M cooler a few times.

The first time to establish that the model I wanted (which was listed on their website) was not stocked. The salesperson wasnt that co-operative either.

The second time was to see what alternatives were available and prices, the salesperson also wasn't that co-operative.

The third time was to place my order. This guy was very co-operative and I didnt have to wait on the phone long either to get him. He courteously and efficiently made the order, took my card details, and presto, the parts came early next morning, waking up my wife. Price was also good.

Guess its just luck of the draw. But theres no excuse for having parts listed that are not carried.

That would give you plenty of time to ride your pushbike or walk everywhere looking for people to lend you $500 wouldn't it?
Of course burnouts dropped by a pushbike in front of houses of people who don't lend you money are not very convincing are they........

Summit even gave me a refund on a braded Radiator Hose that split after is had been on my car for 20,000km, i didn't ask for one, I simply informed them what had happened by E-mail asked them if the coolant i was using may of caused the failure, and as i was in Australia, to send it back to the U.S for inspection and possible warranty was not worth it.

So they gave me credit to the value of the hose, I was impressed

I have bought parts off a guy called Nicholas before and had no dramas. He was helpful but I have also delt with some other joker who couldn't or wouldn't help me so I went elsewhere.
