2011 LW Trend Driving light Harness or Piggy Back Adapter

I have a set of 5" driving lights I want to install on my 2011 LW Trend.

Does anyone know of a wiring harness or preferably a headlight piggyback adapter specific for this vehicle?

I simply wired a fused relay direct to battery and used the highbeam wire on headlight as the trigger.technically you need a switch to be able to turn the driving lights off.
risky to take driving lights power from existing circuit if you are drawing any decent amperage.

What do you mean?

cars wiring may not carry the load and risks getting hot = fire
some late model cars computers measure amperage draw and will register faults if you tap a monitored wire
That is why its safer to use relay drawing direct from battery.

If they are daytime driving lights which don't draw much current then you can piggyback off the headlight plug. If they are a light bar do not do this.


I tapped mine off the headlight plug where it always has 12V when accessory is on. Put ferrules (bootlace crimps) on your cables and slide them through the grommet that surrounds each cable going in to the plug until it makes contact.

As Marg99 said, get the power from the battery and tap into hi beam to use as the switch all via a relay. Safest way to do it.
