Don't know wether it would be an issue for you or not, but how would it go in a river crossing? Aren't the factory 4WD engines silicone sealed and the electricals protected from water?

Not as well as you think. The only motor that is pretty much a sure thing in the drink is an old school mechanical injection diesel providing it has a totally sealed air intake. I have had mine in the drink plenty of times and the only cutting out issue I have had has been because the exhaust has blocked with swamp water. A diesel has more compression to blow the crap out.
Mine does get a good spray of lanolin or such like under the bonnet before it goes in the water and I generally as a rule try and strap a tarp or something to the bullbar.
Il try and get a couple of pics of mine up.

Ever seen a 4WD V6 Rodeo under the bonet ???
Check it out when you get a chance
Do you think if an engine was sealed it wouldn't leak oil ?? As far as intake goes, yeas, pays to have that fully sealed.

Very nice looking bus MAV50L. The old Patrol's are pretty much unbreakable hey.. I used to have one myself.
Can I ask wy you didn't keep the serpantine belt setup ?
Did you need the scoop for it to fit, or is it for looks ??
