T2 Ts50

Hey Guys,

Looking at a T2 TS50 that ford have in thier yard up here and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it.

it has been in Brisbane for the last 6yrs.

Its a 2000 AU TS50 5.0L build no. 016 grey and has 220 FTR on the number plates.

if anyone can give me any info from its history that would be great.

they want 27k for it,

i'm not prepared to pay that for it.

took it for a drive, i rekon its a bit dohy, the GT gets up better than it does.

I'm pretty sure that it might be a T1 the 1st Series,nothing wrong with them a great car.

The GT has got 90KW up on it so what do you expect.

August 2000 to September 2001 was AUII TS50. August 2000 to April 2001 had the SVO alloy heads. What build month in 2000 is it.. and is it manual? Just trying to work out if it's one of the rare alloy head manual AUII TS50's. Build 016 says it might be a early build with the SVO alloy heads. Total of only 46 AUII TS50's ever made.

If it has a build date of August 1999 to March 2000 (that's right.. all 54 series 1 TS50s' were built prior to April 2000), it will be a AUI TS50.. auto only. Either way.. can't lose. They (AUI/AUII TS50's) are great cars.. go for it.

It is Auto and it does have alloy heads on it, I had a good look over it.

I am not sure on the build month

Well I bought it, old mate at the caryard was ringing me all morning and we haggled over price.

25990 on the road with 1 yr warranty

its a 10/2000 T2

should be able to get it tomorrow arv

How so??? a 25k car that just scrapes into the 14's (if its manual) i can think of better performance bargains myself!! Not saying that they arent nice cars but calling them performance bargains is wrong when xr6t's can be had for similar money and add 1k for an edit now theres a performance bargain

They dont have to be superfast down the 1/4. the only reason they dont pull better times is because of the weight. once you get the weight moving they go alright, personally i dont drive down the 1/4 a lot so standing starts are not realy that important.

and the added features you get in one over say an XR6T are worth more than a few secs down the 1/4

Your going to love it, and with the savings you made a little tweak with the edit should make it a sleeper to most cars

Its not all about the track. It has above average performance, would be a great touring car, would handle really well, and i would find it hard to believe that they would depreciate much more over time considering they are relatively rare.

And like Laminge said, and edit can bring it to life.

I would still choose a T series over a XR6T, simply because as far as I am concerned the BA quality is nt as good as the AU. AU1's are not great, but after that they are fine, inparticular the AU3.

Don't worry about all these BA XR guys, you did the right thing buying the T.
As the T will not lose much more value, whereas the XR's are very common now!

Well done jeffb. Beautiful vehicle. Good to see that there is still a number of people who appreciate the T series line of vehicles. It will be a great cruising vehicle as it was designed to be. Also you won't have the hassle of a sore back and ИИИИ (not to mention the headache) after travelling 1200km as you would have in a BA (that my experience anyway). The interiors on the BA onwards just don't do it for me ..... although the FPV range of vehicles seats are great. Each to there own I guess. If the seats and interior are anything like my AUIII TS, you will be happy to park your butt in it for long periods at a time and still hop out ready to do the 100 dash. Once again, good on you.

Oh yeh, very very comfy. the seats are basically identical to those in my GT but are just covered with a different leather. its all pretty much stock and it is so quiet in the cabin while you are cruising down the road, can hardly hear anything.

Well done jeffb, you have purchased something very unique. Are you able to post some photos of the interior? seats dash etc.

I ALMOST put pen to paper on the T2 down at coffee ford in dandenong, but settled on the BA ghia V8 instead...unfortunatly.... kinda... :hihi:

That car had a Herrod enhanced motor, with this that and the other, so it would have been nice!

I bought an au t3 te50 interior to fit into my car. Its gonna be a pain in the butt I guess but hopefully its worth it.

Your car is really nice do you have any interior shots?
