I recken leave em on, they protect your underbody from getting damaged with stone chips ect. Also they stop the spray of water shooting up to the driver behind you.

They may not look good, but they do serve a purpose.

Cheers Paul

Mine are left on, even though they are shortened about 1.5 inches to avoid scraping with the supa lows, i leave mine on strictly because my girlfriend lives down a dirt road and even if they supposedly look "ghey", which i dont think they do. i dont care cause its sure as hell saving my paintwork...!!!

Tell me what looks the more ghey...
A car with 17's, superlows and muflaps or a car with ty stock wheels, 4wd ride height BUT no mudflaps??? Is there car suddenly less grandpa speck??? pfft

I say leave em on, doesn't mean to say that i will purchase a set..

strangely enough on my white Ef they didn't look too bad, it was lowered 1.5 and had 225 tyres on the back. being white the less crap flicked up on the rear the better. I didn't have any on the front.

my red ef doesn't have any mud flaps, but with no rain, can't flick mud onto the rear and the car looks hot.

mudflaps are great! They make my 4wd spec EA look much lower than what it actually is, while protecting my duco at the same time. Looks much better than mud and stonechips all over the sides of the rear bumper.

how do mudflaps make a car look low ?

I've had mine off for ages and frequently go on dirt roads driving hard, my paint is all good.

I actually tried going slower on dirt roads, and I don't think it made much difference.

Don't have them, purely because it didn't have them to start with. I'm planning to get some in the not-so-distant-future, might even stop the mud flinging up the rear panels.

Plastic doesn't cause rust. Dirt and water cause rust. Dirt and water accumulate where the mudflap is screwed to the body. The design of the splash sheilds on e-series isn't great, there is not a lot of space for water/dirt to escape - if the drain holes in the guards get clogged up (like mine and i'm sure a lot of others have) then water pools in there and causes rust.

Well my car is "lowed" but even if it wasn't i still wouldn't have them. The only consequence i have had from taking them off, apart from the stains, is a little extra dirt on the rear bar cover, which hoses straight off.
Mudflaps interrupt the lines of most cars - they invariably look tacky.

Because from behind, you don't see as much of the tyres. When you get a view of about 30cm of tyre, it's not a great look.

I know because my Dad's Rodeo cab-chassis only has one rear mudguard (it lost the second one recently) and the side without appears to look higher
