Evo9. At the end of the day it's faster, and that's what really matters.

Plus it looks better now, the new WRX front is a shocker.

I nearly DID go for the EVO9. For the purpose of the car, ie. a balls-out rocket, it got my vote over the "softer" tuned 2.5L in the STi. Funny thing is I was closer to getting the MY05 STi than the new one It was a 4+ way decision for me, including these two, the Liberty GT (including STi model), and 350z. Ended up getting none of them, but rather, another investment property which isn't any fun at all to drive

Bottom line is you can't go wrong with either!

WRX baby! Always been one of my favourite cars! The new front is alright... can I have an 04' Sti? Any WRX is fine by me tho.. not that the EVO is a bad car in any way.

See I like the look of the current WRX/Impreza.

If I could get the EVO running get in the WRX shell that would do me...

Id go for an evo.
One thing I don't like about both cars is that the interior is very plain. It would have to be a weekend car for me.

Without knowing alot about these cars and based on my current perceptions, the Evo is the better performance car-just! Not enough however to overcome it's cheap interior and finish. I'd go the STi.
The new front in STi form is tolerable but the rear of the Evo is not IMO. Lets face it, most people will be seeing the rear of these cars more than the front..lol

Sold my MY03 Sti last month and was about to buy an Evo 9 but at the last minute switched and bought a Liberty GT Sti. If this car had not been available l would have gone the Evo. Slightly larger car than the WRX, more hardcore and l reckon the interior is pretty good for what it is, especially the seats. Better security system too, l hated that ИИИИen keypad by the time l sold my WRX Sti

Cheers

Which one can I drive 700km without getting tired, race on Saturday and use to pull my horsefloat on Sundays? That's right, neither of them ... that's why I own a fullsized V8 :
.. I *LOVED* the SBS TopGear review of the Evo .. and the rolling-drag race with a stocky Renault (or something)

yeah I like the WRX..but id go Evo. The interior is a joke but I guess they do that to keep the cost down.

You see so many "certain people" in WRX's...Evo's seem rarer.

And those pics of the Evo10 concpet look HORN!

Evo 9 for me. Only reason being that there is intent in driving with these machines and solely on that point the Evo is better. As for a car to live with it would be neither

Evo for exterior looks
STi for the extra torque

Overall STi (only because I hate the Evo's interior)

I totally agree with that... Evo for the weekend would be nice but..... it boosts harder than the rex so prob feels quicker because of it even though they are very closely matched. i dont mind the look of either of them but with endless funds id have to install a bmw 5 series interior in my evo : hmmmm... now im dreamin.... ill leave it there and go back to my rusty old ute........

Evo all the way. The new Rex's look under tyred to me (I know their not though).
Consider this also, the STi only keeps up with the Evo with the help of some very sticky semi-slick race orientated tyres. Re-tyre the Evo the same way and, bye bye....
