While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

You will have the Nanny Staters foaming at the mouth in convulsions, because it shows a car speeding with a noisy exhaust.
It will be forced off the air when 2 of them complain.

Canberra has no channel 10, so even though I record everything for the last 3 weeks, no advert for the Mustang at that time on the closest match.

wouldn't surprise me. If you ever want a laugh, go to the ad standards website and search for Ford Motor Company. Some of the complaints are so stupid that you can only laugh.

If that is the standard of Ford Advertising,

I can understand why they usually don't bother.

Doesn't matter how you want to look at it, it conveys nothing.
It's not informative, or evocative, or anything.

As a Ford and Mustang lover it does nothing to encourage me to own one.

Were I not already a Ford & Mustang lover, the ad would suggest to me that the car appeals to sleazy old blokes who like to drive fast in straight lines, and think that sticking a beautiful woman in the driver's seat will generate sales.

People need to get a life, I am reading a complaint now about the raptor ad just for laughs. People take themselves way to seriously.

Great ad but they should of used someone else. What does Tara moss have to do with cars? or Fords? Throw Stallone, Van Damme or Schwarzenegger in there.

Would probably be accused of being sexist by having a man drive it.

Tara Moss is the well known Ford Fan And Mustang driver.
It’s just that I had to Google who the hell she was after I saw the ad.

To be fair, it doesn't appear that the driver is speeding in the ad. I only watched it once but the speedo only went up to 88km/h or something like that so any complaintants would have to somehow "prove" the Mustang was speeding in the ad.

Love it. A complete change in direction of their advertising - it will only get better.

Sounds and looks hot.

They look better in real-life than in pictures - more compact, in proportion, and not nose heavy.

In my opinion, the 3 main attributes that sell Mustangs are;

1. Styling and head turning looks in today's world of mostly mundane looking cars.

2. Great Performance.

3. It's long Heritage of being an icon.

I think the commercial hits a home run on all of the above.

You know..I kind of like the ad in a mainstream way. It’s ticking the boxes, But then the flip side is it’s sort of like watching Dick Johnson selling women’s lingere, they are both cool.... but not together
