That is utter utter cow manure. If you're on your Ps, you KNOW that you have to be alcohol free when you drive. If you don't know how much you can drink... its freaking simple. DON'T DRINK! This ruling has made a mockery of our road laws. This thing sets a precedence now.

If I'm ever over the limit, I guess I can point to that and say "Oh, I would have expected the alcohol level to be below 0.05 by now. You have to let me off because my last drink was 2 hours ago. You let off that chick so you have to do same to me"

UNBELIEVABLE! Shes irresponsible and should have her license taken off her. Oh yeah, and the courts are bull.

What part of....."Zero Alcohol for P-Plate drivers"..... does she not understand.
And as for the court system, usual case of "it's not what ya know........."

Dont suppose it does any harm to be female and rather attractive in the courtroom either........"if a young male of the lower class structure fronted up for the same offence he'd have the book thrown at him."

That is so wrong. You cant drink while you are on your P's. We all know that. Disqualify her and impound her car.

Uh oh, hell just froze over. I agree with Harold!

I hope I get hit by a drunk skinny girl running a red light. It doesn't hurt as much as a fat guy. Less mass in the car?

Two drinks two hours before? Doesn't take many brains to know you'll blow over.

I suggest everyone in the area write to their MP demanding an appeal from police.

All the cops had to do in court is call her a "hoon" and it may have been a different story. But in seriousness like said above it not what you know its who you know.

What an absolute joke. Surely there must have been under-the-table dealings.

I agree totally with Psycho Chicken (including the hell freezing over part!), what difference is there between a skinny girl on P plates WITH ALCOHOL IN HER BLOOD hitting you by running a red than that of a large male doing it. Absolutely ridiculous that she has been able to get off a drink driving charge because she is skinny. Forgetting the fact that she is a P plater for the moment, the fact that she is of slight build means that she is a freaking idiot for thinking that a drink (or two drinks) a couple of hours before driving wouldn't show up.

If it had been a male driver the case would have been thrown out. It is bull effluent.

I hate hearing about these scenario's. Not so much because of the injustice (for the records, i think these things shouldn't happen), but because its hard not to let yourself get worked up about it. : Its sad also because there are people who see this and think "I can get away with _________ to because she could."
The cops are gonna feel it too because they did their job correctly. Yet they are going to be dragged into it aswell. Just think how many people are gonna argue with cops now who would have normally copped it on the chin.

Be very polite, but voice your disgust..... It will make you feel better. And ALWAYS leave your name and location. Other wise they use that as an excuse to send you straight to the spam bin.

In fact, here is all of your NSW masters contact details, save it away and keep it updated.

I can see why you feel dis-illusioned and feel discriminated against, you were 0.01% higher than her. You get the book thrown at you and she walks away with fines that would be no more than the cost of a bottle of wine that she would drink at a dinner party.

Yep, thats justice.....

There's a quite attractive (i mean drop dead gorgeous) chick in my year level, who got pulled over for going approx 135 km/h on the highway [she's also a P Plater] and she sweet talked the cop out of giving her a ticket. She drove off without anything. I have no doubt she got off because of her good looks. I know this happened cause i'm mates with her.

Since when has the BAC been 0 for P plates? Last I knew it was 0.02 for P plates.

I drove home on New Years day a few years ago, got breath tested and they said I was fine to go.

Surely my BAC would not of been even close to 0 but obviously was less than 0.02.

Its been like that since July or September 2004. NSW only

Its technically zero tolerance, but a mouthwash or cough lollie can bring up a detectable reading. Most cops will let you off if your under 0.02 unless your being a hard ***.

This girl should have been punished. Common sense should tell you alcohol stays in the blood longer for a female, especially a skinny one. General rule for me, if I've had a drink I'll wait 8 hours before driving again, If I get totally trashed I'll wait 14 hours. I'm not a little guy either.
