Hey Guys.
Had the worst day at work yesterday and just to top things off, as i was parking the car, i was in such a rush i scratched it against a pole. The only visible damage is on the little panel thing that sticks out of the door about 3 quarters of the way down. The paint is just scratched off. Does anyone know if there is a risk of rust developing and if it is better to just get a panel beater to paint over it or have the little panel replaced ($70) Only problem with replacing it is that i would still have to go get it painted. Cheers Terry |

Whoops.
It's a 2006 Ford Focus LX Not quite sure what the part is called. I explained it to the ford dealer as the strip that runs accross the outside of the door about 2 thirds of the way down. It's painted the same colour as the body as well. Thanks for the help hey |

that will be a plastic door mould. easy to replace, it is stuck on with double sided tape, If thats all the damage, ur pannel beated could have a new mould painted and replaced in a few hours, it would be a case of u getting the mould takin it to the pannel shop, them colour matching and u calling back to have the old mould removed and new refitted.

As a temporary fix, go to Ricerbarn and get a spray can of matched paint (they mix it up for you) and spray the scratched area
