Default Weekly Race 4 Real Report: May 31, 2017

Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!

Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway.

Top Holden of the Week

This angry HSV Clubsport R8 sounded and looked the absolute business rocking a red and black colour scheme and topped off perfectly with a Walkinshaw bonnet. This beast managed an impressive 13.17 @ 120.41 MPH down the strip.

Top Japanese of the Week

Less is definitely more with this immaculate S15 Nissan Silvia. Undoubtedly one of the cleanest S15s kicking about, rocking a set of R34 GT-R stockies, a rare set of rear pods and finished off with a front lip and a front-mount intercooler.

Top European of the Week

Classic Minis are definitely a welcome site here at Sydney Dragway and this one appeared to have some fairly extensive work done to it. Coated in a beautiful hue of blue and clever use of a WRX bonnet scoop made sure that this little hatch stood out. Managing a 16.05 @ 84.76 MPH, this Mini’s straight-line performance certainly impressed.

Top Ford of the Week

Starting out its life as a taxi cab, this humble FG Falcon was given a new lease on life with the gift of a turbo Barra powerplant swapped under the bonnet. With a best run of 11.93 @ 115.54 MPH, late arrivals are a thing of the past.

Commentator’s Pick of the Week

For this edition of Race 4 Real, we were treated to a visit from the world’s fastest street-driven GT-R. Capable of running 7-second passes, this R32 GT-R, affectionately dubbed ‘JUN II’, sounds just about as mental as it pulls.

Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information.

Stay tuned for our coverage of the next Race 4 Real event!
