Default Quick fix, ute owners

My tail gate latch is broken where the rod meets the latch itself, anyone know of a quick fix? till I find a wrecker that has what Im looking for.

I seem to always find problems on sundays :(

Much appreciated

If it was an E series ute, I'd say Cable tie!

Can you get the latch off to drill a new hole and feed the rod in the new hole?

The other side did have a cable tie connecting it to the latch already haha, I tried this, but failed.
Nope cant drill a hole, as it needs to slide in this track, its a small piece of plastic/clip I need. The clip goes into the latch, and then attach the rod to the clip.

Sounds like you need 2 cable ties together - 2 together are 4 times as strong as 1! LOL.
