Default new focus idle

Just thought i would share my experiences with my new focus lx.
I picked it start of september and right from the start i thought it idled a little roughly but thought i would leave it for the 3000 service. So i had the service last week and 3 hours later they tell me they totally reprogramed the computer. rough idle is now fixed and i must admit engine seems to be a lot smoother and even have more power down low - if thats possible.
If anyone has concerns with their own focus would recomend telling the mechanic at the service.

Good advice there and you are completely spot on with the whole car feeling smoother !
My 04 Fiesta was rough on idle and the throttle wasnt responsive at all, so at the 3 thousand km service i told them about it, and like with your car they reprogramed the computer and it felt like a new car with lots more punch down low.

Glad to hear your problems are over. happy motoring !

Hmm, mine is a bit rough as well, I should pull my finger out and get it in for the 3000km service

I have a problem with my Zetec also. Took delivery of it on Friday and its had the engine warning light on. Fixed it on Saturday but it came back on shortyl after. The service guy told me they didn't have a specialist on Saturday that deals with Focus diagnostics but they managed to clear the warning light so I reckon they just resetted the computer and hoped for the best. I reckon they did nothing. It goes back tomorrow to have alarm and scuff plates fitted and for them to fix the engine warning light problem. Great car but its not quite right just yet.

For the first 80 km I had it, it just didn't feel right. The engine felt like someone was strangling it and it wasn't has responsive as I thought it would be. It isn't at all very eager at the moment. When they finished on Saturday they told me it was something to do with the throttle body which was why the engine was choked and not eager.

Hopefully all is fixed tomorrow.
