Hi Guys,
Just bought the new TomTom Go300 GPS. What a brilliant piece of equipment!! I did a fair bit of research and I'm convinced it is one of the best on the market. I thoroughly recommend it if you are interested in satellite navigation. Another new toy... |

G'day Kerri,
The unit can be purchased from Harvey Norman for $1000. A bit pricey, but well worth it if you do a bit of travelling and want a fool proof system that has it all. It guides you using voice directions etc. You can use it hiking, boating, 4WD dirt tracks and anything else in car or portable. |

Thanks heaps for that, I will go and check it out this week....
I do seriously need one of those things, I must admit since the new Brisway referdex has come out I can sort of read it better, but blimey, the amount of times I have to pull over just to read it is crazy : |

A couple of other things... the cheaper ones don't have the best maps programmed into them. The TomTom uses Whereis, UBD and Censis mapping, which are the best. This unit also gives you thousands of POI (points of interest) including hotels, doctors, restaurants and anything else you could possibly think of... absolutely amazing stuff!!!
It will be great on the next cruise if I get left behind! |

I use the Garmin Sat nav, comes with either a base to fix to dash and the weighted base, plugs into the cig lighter socket, and is easy to download the updates from the net.
Has whole lot of features like trip logs, average speeds and holds top speed as well, (depending on who else uses it have to reset that one on a regular basis) Yes it is oin an odd position, I had to turn the unit round to get rid of the flash reflection :the_finge Numbers set on a private track :the_finge It has one of the easiest touch screens to use, certainly much easier and faster to use than the factory sat nav (not to mention $2000 cheaper) any way that's my 2c worth
