Default Thoughts?

I am thinking of taking the Bi plane spoiler off my s1 xr6 and leaving just the boot. ( after a respray) what do people think, as im not sure.

Guess i could always just add it later :

In my opinion AU's need spoilers, they don't look right without them

im 50/50 on this.. i rekon some cars look hot as without a spoiler but they have to be clean, low cars with rims to pull it off, for me anyways. mate has a very nice silver fairmont, black windows lowered rims and no spoiler, looks mad! but me still having my spoiler on my xr means i have to be a little biased lol but its cause i have the rest of the kit. AU's without kits look clean without spoilers. maybe post few pics up so we can see what it looks like now.

Never been a fan of the clean rear look and not having the spolier, just think that they finish off the rear. my opinion only though.

It looks good with no spoiler, or if you really must have one, go with the T series lip spoiler.

I'm not a big fan of the biplane thing, so personally I'd leave it bare, or go with a lip spoiler as suggested above.

I used to think that AU's looked pretty bad without a spoiler, especially when they are still riding standard shocks/springs-like mine.

But after seeing a couple of nicely lowered ones with very big feet and tints all round and a nice s/steel exhaust tip- and no spoiler, I reckon they just look mean as!

Once I get mine lowered, and some nice wheels I think I'm going to leave it as is.
Tha "big, fat, soft" rear actually looks pretty intimidating when the car is dressed right.
It sort of says "here's my big ***-I don't need any makeup-now get out of my way..!" :

I would leave the signature bi-plane on which makes the AUI XR what it is in character.

Lose the bi-plane. But if you decide to keep it, take the next logical step and fit two sets of tyres to each wheel...

my auII forte looks ok without the spoiler, got 18" typhoon mkII's, dakr tint, and clear tailights, will look awesom wen it gets lowered! took the forte badge off too, that gave it a few points. no spoiler gives it a cruiser look imo

I ran my XR8 with a full V8 supercar kit rear wing and all then i ran it with the kit and no rear wing... it looked unreal but with no rear wing it will have to be low... My rear spoiler will be coming of when i respray the bootlid (it still has holes from V8 supercar spoiler)

take it off and put on a S1 ducktail, it will cover all you existing holes and not leave it looking so flat. i wanted to do this with my xr8 but selling it now. needs to be lowered to pull it off though

Id say no spoiler, but to be honest, it depends on what the rest looks like.
I have no kit at all, and think it looks fine, but some do need a spoiler to square up the back.

Sometimes AU's can look great without them but not very often.
The bi plane is what makes the original AU series so unique and IMO better looking than all the others.

having owned a 65mm lowered forte with just the S1 spoiler, I reckon the AU rear needs a spoiler to give it some height and depth. It looks like ford forgot to put the final piece on.
I understand other people's opinions about no spoiler on an AU but it doesn't always work whereas spoilerless ED to EL falcons look really tough. it works so well on those.

There is no way that I'd take my bi plane off.
If you do end up taking it off, I wouldn't mind grabbing it. It can sit next to the still brand unpainted AU1 XR front bar extension that I've got in the workshop, just in case of a bingle. You never know, it just might come in handy

well, depends what you're car looks like ... if its SLAMMED then remove it ... if not, then leave it on there .. helps it look tuffer ... IMHO i would remove it and slame it ... dw what people say about no spoiler they imagine it on there cars ... as you have seen in the above post's there are some INSANE examples of them removed ...

if you want, post up a pic of you're beast, that will help us to give you an idea!

My Monty never had a spoiler

my mates OLD T1TS50 did, but he removed it ... IMHO, made one of the tuffest looking T-Series' that i have seen ... besides that other one that was posted above ...

there are better photo's for the TS50 ... but i cant find them
