Default AU Premium Brakes

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can tell me if vehicles optioned with the 329mm brake package also got upgraded rear brakes?

I have a feeling they didn't, that they just used the standard rear brakes found on any old Falcon, but I want to make sure before I go buying stuff.

Daniel

You are sweet mate, same rear brakes as any series 2 or 3 falcon. The TE only had the premium front calipers, with std single piston rears. Just used the fancy rotors to match the front 329mm units.
The rears are only bigger on Brembo equipped cars.

Cruise Friday?

Rears have braided lines on my TE as do fronts (from factory). Other then that they are the same.

My fronts are braided from factory, but rears are not. Same brake setup as you Dallas. Weird.

You should come back over for a cruise mate, that's if the Fairmont is still yours? Or did you end up selling it?

The above is spot on; I took this from the premium brake section in the workshop manual:

"The following brake system components are unique to T-Series and XR8 Pursuit 250 Ute Premium Brakes:
- Front rotors, calipers, pads and hoses
- Rear rotors and hoses
- Master cylinder and booster"

"Rear Brakes
Grooved rotors and braided hoses are also used on the rear. Rotors are 287 mm in diameter and 16.0 mm thick; standard Series III size. Rear calipers are standard Series III with standard Series III pads."

Nah mate I sold it to a mate in the end. Broke my heart to do it but it's
in a very good home and only gets driven on Sundays now so
she will stay in good nick for many years to come.

For the series III, only TS50 with premium brakes or Brembo brakes got braided rear hoses. XR8, TE50 got rubber rear, braided front. I believe Dallas would have braided front and rear on his T2, as it has more fruit std than the T3 TE. (Koni's,fairmont trim level, etc.)

99GHIA, a shame you had to sell that burgundy beast mate, nice classy looking car that is, and you made some tasty mods.
