I have a mate with an old mercedes 1975 280 6 cylinder, now the car is in excellent condition inside and out but the motor is a little tired, i have heard of people putting the 250 ford motors in them, has anyone here done this? or can anyone point me in the right direction? (would even consider putting 302 or 351 in the old girl!)

I know of a distant mate of mine that had fitted a 351 clevo into one...
Not too sure of the exact dramas he met up with. I DO know he made his own custom engine mounts up out of 1/4" thick checkerplate though..this was about 8-9 years back & in Sydney nsw - would need to check up on getting it engineered so speak to them first prior to listening to guys that may fill ya full of confidence to be let down when it comes time to register it |
