Default exhaust lift/tuck

who'd done an exhaust lift/tuck?

my live axle au is running superlows, and im sick of the tailpipe banging against the diff/rear axle evertime i hit a decent bump. ive finally got some time and motivation to do something about it.

had a look under there and the muffler hangs pretty low, rubber hangars are in reasonable nick.
was thinking i could heat and bend the metal hangar that bolts to the rear muffler (redback 2.5") so that it sits higher.

also need to replace the muffler as its cracked where the tailpipe joins, probably from stress due to the axle constantly pounding it.

if the tailpipe ends up sitting too high after the lift i think i should be able to cut a piece out of the old muffler assembly and weld into the tailpipe so the tip sits nicely.

any tips or pics from anybody thats whos done this before would be great.

Just get a custom made exhaust. Tell him the issues and bang. Sorted.

picked up a new redback 2.5" system during the week.

had a play around with it today, got the tailpipe running over the diff with a bit extra clearance but now have the problem of the tip hard up against the rear bumper.

i made a couple of careful cuts with the grinder and tacked it back togeather with the mig, almost clears the bumper now but needs a bit more adjustment so the tip sits nice and straight but i ran out of daylight, will have to finish another day.

hopefully i have enough clearance over the diff now, its about as high as it can go without becoming too close to the floor.

if it still hits i may have to dump it at the diff.
