Default GM reveals Pontiac G8 (VE Commodore) - sort of (partially)......

As broadcasted on the American ABC.

Main thing is that it has scoops again, and appears to be sitting on the HSV rims.

As we reported earlier today, Charles Gibson is in Detroit this week doing World News Tonight from Motown. Avid Autoblog reader Arthur just tipped us off to this sneak peak of the show in which Rick Wagoner escorts Gibson into the Pontiac design studio and lifts the cover off the front end of the Pontiac G8 that will debut early next month at the Chicago Auto Show. Our inside sources tell us the G8 is officially listed as a concept, but we're obviously pretty certain that Pontiac's going to get a rear-wheel drive sedan based on Holden's Zeta platform and that what you see here isn't far from production at all.
Please let's not go down the path of the last VE thread.

Thanks,
Dave.

I think Holden are very fortunate that their parent company has a lot of faith in them and is willing to reveal them to the world stage. If only Ford OZ was given the same chances?

FordOZ do design cars for the world. With the funding for LHD/RHD Falcons/LWB it may make the world stage yet.

Actually it's more like if GM US didn't stop building large RWD cars (and Opel) and Ford Oz didn't help Holden with the big sales of VT/VX's and LWB Holdens then Holden at the moment wouldn't be exporting anything and wouldn't have been given the project of building their own RWD platform (Zeta) for the first time since Kingswood days ....and GM US would have kept everything to itself.

Congrats to Holden for taking the opportunity that came its way.

Had a look at the Yank forums, quite a few dont like it.
Too Euro. not Pontiac looking enough, looks bland.

Never satisfied they are.
After the crap Ford and Gm America have been making lately.

I hope it sells well.

Yeah they get a lot of "not made here" syndrome - despite "here" for them includes Mexico and Canada
