Hey there, Does anyone know whether a 2L pinto will bolt straight up to a stock mk2 cortina gearbox? can the gearbox handle the 2L? and how easy is it to convert the hydraulic clutch to cable?

Hey.No it doesnt, have tried.Better off buying the 2 litre gearbox and fabricating mounts to fit.You may be able to use a stock escort driveshaft but with different yoke or have to cut and weld one to fit.I have a Mk2 with 1600 and its bloody hard to get a floor manual gearbox that runs a hydraulic clutch.Oh and youll have to change your clutch set up to cable and maybe modify your accelerator.Goodluck.
