Question WP LX Being Traded for WQ ZETEC Auto

I am considering trading my WP LX for a WQ ZETEC Auto. I am lazy and hate changing gears in Briz.
Whats the Zetec like ? an improvement over the LX ? or is it just cosmetic trim and a couple of extra's over the LX ? The engines are the same. Does it handle better ? etc
Cheers

"Yep....that's about it"

Mechanically the Zetec and LX models are identical.

The Zetec in manual form has a few lower gearbox ratios which "in theory at least" make it quicker of the line, this of course doesn't apply in your case if your looking at an auto.

It also has a slighty stiffer suspension setup, different wheels, fog lights and a few other cosmetic features.

Personally I think you would be better off buying an auto LX model and spending the money saved on some modifications that are actually worthwhile and make the car more to your "personal taste" such as some decent alloy wheels, lowered springs (Kings or Eibach's), quality window tint etc.

Things like the fog lights, sporty gear lever, door handles etc can be readily available from either Ford Spare Parts or a number of sources over the net such as

The WQ Zetec has "sports-suspension". Something that other 1.6L don't have, but I doubt it'd make a huge difference in handling.

I am not into modifying cars . My local dealer has a demo ZETEC for $16990, drive away.with low k's. his is a saving of about $6k on normal drive away price. I was interested in the ZETEC as it it is a bit more than an LX.
Cheers

That's a very good price for an Auto Zetec, from what I see from this Carsales search you can't even get an LX model for that price in Brisbane!

And I picked up the car today. Photo's soon.
Rides much better than the WP LX. Quieter than the WP LX.
The Message Centre, Home Safe Light and Welcome Lights aren't on the Australian Fiesta's ? If so, they aren't on my ZETEC.
Cheers
