Hey guys/gals ,
Just asking how long race fuel lasts in its drum once the seal has been cracked ? Ie a 20l drum was opened and 10l used , there is still 10l in drum . How long is it good for ? Been stored in a garage on wood . Approx 12 mths old . Just throw it in lawn mower ? It's vp Motorsport 109 .

i think it's about 2 months before it starts be unsuitable for racing applications and about 1 year unsuitable for general consumption, so yeah, i'd say stick it in the mower or wife's car.

AVGAS is leaded and will have a long life period. I had some in the race car and it as at least 5 years old and was fine.
Unleaded on the other hand (the fuel you specify) will start to go off after around 1 month. I wouldn't use it in a high compression engine. |
