Default Thoery test fail.... 90times....

Its not just Australian drivers who appear to have the inability to grasp the road rules.... maybe this girl should just give up? or just be told not to bother?

Quote:
Woman fails theory test – 90 times!
Written on October 19, 2011 in Driving

A 26- year old woman has created a UK record by failing her driving theory test ninety times. The woman, from Southwark in South London, has spent an incredible £2790 so far and is still yet to pass her test.

The Driving Standards Agency revealed the figures when they were asked for details related to poor driving. They also revealed that currently the person who has failed the most practical driving tests is a 39- year old man from the West Midlands who has been unsuccessful on 36 occasions, which is still short of the UK record which is held by a Mrs Git Kaur Randhawa of Middlesex, who passed her practical driving test on the 48th attempt in 1987.

The driving theory test is often perceived as easy. Whether this is because its multiple choice,or because people think they know more than they actually do, it has in the past tripped people up who have arrived for their test under prepared.

Recent changes to the theory test mean that candidates are unable to access any of the actual questions used in the test, so a good understanding of the highway code is essential if you are going to be successful.

You also need to practice heavily for the hazard perception test. The main reason people fail this part of the test is lack of concentration. The best way to practice is to buy a cd-rom such as ‘driving test success‘ and sit mock tests so that you are used to concentrating for the right length of time.

The way to avoid failure, once or ninety times, is not to underestimate the theory test, prepare well, don’t book your test until you’re scoring 48 out of 50 on the theory and 60-65 out of 75 for the hazard perception, that way even if you have a test day ‘wobble’ you should still be ok.

Best of luck!

What ever the test is ..... it should be the one Australia adopts. Might weed out a few, or at the very least, delay the inevitable.

My mate passed on the 13th attempt at getting his P's. The instructor said that he will pass him as he must know by now how to drive after many hours of professional instruction. It did not work, he was called the crash magnet and had many minor hits.

pretty scarey to think that some one who fails to pass a driving test till the 90th attempt or after is driving on the road.
i would want this ladys timetable so i can get off the road when she`s on.

Look, driving a car or riding a bike is a dangerous undertaking...shouldn't they place a limit on how many goes you get at the test before saying "sorry, take the bus"?

In my job as a train driver, every 18 months to two years, we face what is called a MOC, or Maintainance Of Competance, virtually we have to "resit our licence" and prove that we still know all the rules, can drive to an acceptable standard, and still know all the regulations and undergo a long written test on standards. If we don't pass it, we're off the rails and sitting on the platform until we can bring ourselves back to required standards again...and if you can't, then sorry, see ya later, enjoy your next job.

We often wonder what the roads would be like if everyone with a car or bike or truck licence was required to undergo this sort of testing...I'm not sure, but I bet they'd be a lot emptier...

Probably depends on who you end up with as your driving test instuctor. The guy I had was a Speedway Driver. We ended up just talking about Speedway and his cars. I even went up a one way road the wrong way....he said "Ah don't worry bout it...it's a stupid stretch of road anyway"

Somethings in life certain people just cannot do. Driving seams too hard to grasp for some, so they should just buy a bus timetable.

I'm with above , no way you should be allowed to even try after say 5 attempts without a " no try time " say 12 months , then if unsuccessful another 5 ........walk .

My mother can't drive and would never attempt to ! 1 would think there has to be a cut off

Unfortunately the "no one ever fails" ideal is rampant everywhere...

My grandma got her L's many many years ago. She couldn't drive well at all. I heard she was absolutly hopeless, so she never got a licence. She has got by pretty well without one.

Eventually she will fluke it and pass. Just like 1,000 monkeys on typewriters are going to write Shakespeare...given enough attempts.

As a general rule, if something repeatedly doesn't work you need to do something different. Obviously her study methods are not working...

Should be 3 strikes and your out for a year before trying again imo.
Driving is a big responsibity , not only for your self but everybody else out there.
It`s a privalege not a right.
Some people just shouldn`t be driving and I`m sorry but hrs spent on computer generated stuff just doesn`t cut it with me .
The human eye can see nearly 180 degrees if trained right...
