Our new focus is in Australia and is now on a truck heading this way! yay! they reckon we should be able to get our hands on it on friday.... sooo cant wait.
How long before u reckon I could have a crack at a really long distance trip, melbourne to canberra, would the engine need to be broken in before I tried something in the 110km/h for 7 hours range? |

Running in a car normally involves 1/2 to 3/5 engine load over 3/4 of the avaliable revs. And keeping revs varying. Are you in Melbourne? I should be getting mine soon as well.

We did a massive drive with the Honda when we first got it.... Canberra to Sydney.... cause we were able to get it cheaper.....
Im sure that driving at 110km for 7 hours is fine, but maybe try getting to canberra NOT on the highway.... like that you are slowing down and changing gears more often....

We just snapped up what is apparently the last 5sp LX Hatch in Pure Silver in Aus at present.
I tracked it down to a dealership that had it on the showroom floor and got an order in just in time!! With a bit of luck we'll be picking it up on Sat, and we'll have to drive it straight back to Canberra. That's ok though, I'll just vary the speed, load and gear while driving on the highway. |
