how would they meet todays emissions and ancap safety?

We all know not to take blurbs or headlines seriously theses days. don't we?

These Beautiful cars are built in a workshop not a new car production line to me it doesn't matter if its a new crate motor trans put into a newly built chassis its a restore.

You can only restore something if it already exists, even if you started of with only a wheel nut you could say you are restoring but everything on these is new, they are a new reproduction built under license from Ford, nothing like a restoration, just cause they are built to order and not rolling down a production line means diddly

Right, they are continuations. They even get a vehicle identification number which is a continuation from when they were running off an assembly line.

meaning they will be built using an existing used body as the cost of the Brand new one would be too extravagant. think about it.

In that respect then, they are like the 500KRs that Shelby American has put out recently which also get continuation VINs. Not sure how that is done? (I can't open that 69 - 70 website, it blows off the tab every time I try to open it).

Outfits like Superformance build GT40s, Cobras and Corvettes from scratch under license which get continuation VINs.

that's just It I cant see how the new panels are done, it requires stamping machines and expensive tooling.

I think in comparison the reproduced GT40s, Cobras and Vettes have simple bodies maybe fibreglass? mounted onto space frame like chassis

In respect to the business that i refereed to, whats to think about?? they have already built plenty of new ones for clients!! nothing extravagant about it at all, if someone has the money and it's what they want then they buy it, in my book extravagance is only if you can't afford it.....

That’s pretty good value in the big scheme of things! Are they the Dynacorn bodies? Pay shop rates over here for a full body resto to get your average 50 year old car even close to this and you’ll be paying significantly more than that. The aftermarket business for these cars is so huge I’m sure there is practically every part available for a brand new Mustang. Plus the added advantage of doing your own individual build without sacrificing an original survivor car if that’s the direction you want to go in. The market is certainly here for certain OZ car body parts, they sell pretty well and are usually decent things, so who knows, one day with the popularity of the Falcon Coupes even in the states we may see a new XB hardtop shell...but I won’t hold my breath! Personally I think the 69/70 Mustang was the iconic shape and just looks plain and simple spot on from every angle. I can see the business reason for a all new shell... as for that GT40, purely iconic. The shape still holds up against any modern supercar, actually it beats them hands down! But that’s what the GT40 always did!

Those GT40s with the John Wyre Gulf paint scheme are about as sexy as a car can be.

A red or yellow Ferarri P3 is in the same category.

If I ever find myself in the position to build one, I'm not sure if I would go the direction of a 500cid "428CJ" Mach1 using a Shelby alloy block and Don Losito billet FE heads or a 370+ cid "Boss 302" with the better flowing SCM heads.

Always good to have dreams.

They are very good dreams mate! I’d go the Boss!! When I rented that 2018 Stang last weekend and I enjoyed it, but I kept walking around it thinking of how to modify it. Don’t get me wrong, it looked good, but I like different.
It’s great to have dreams, keeps our minds active and our bank accounts empty!

That was looked into some years ago, there's mention of it here somewhere in a distant thread, but unfortunately the guys pushing for it couldn't get no where near the numbers required to make it viable to have them built, that was through Dynacorn...

There's quite a few 'builders' in the US that will put together a new 60/70s Mustang and a few other 60's and 70's muscle cars for you, but i think Dynacorn pretty much supply all of them, i don't know of another, maybe solarite_guy does?
