Default At Fault, company policies inc charities

Hi just been reading a few accident and insurance posts and thought id share with you St Vincent De Pauls policy on accidents, when driving their cars and trucks we were always given a sheet telling us not to ever admit or even say sorry if we had a prang ,just to give liscence details and card for charity with their details, i thought at the time it was a disgusting thing to do and stopped working as a Volanteer very soon after ,as this was the icing on the cake after i saw what happened to all the nice furniture and stuff from deceased estates that was never sold to the poor,(but thats another story) anyway do any of you work for companies and such that behave like this?

I'm not defending them in any way, but the reason is for insurance and legal reasons and I think you'd be suprised how common that sort of policy is, because admitting liabilty can open a pandoras box so to speak ("you admit it's was your fault? Oh, my back hurts!"), it's also a standard clause of many insurance companies that if you admit liability then your insurance is null and void.

You should never admit liability under any circumstances.
The other driver may be unlicensed, under the influence or the other vehicle could be unregistered. There are so many things that you couldn’t possibly know at an accident scene.

Cheers, Danny

It is a standard clause in any insurance policy that if you do admit fault or may you get to wear it.
