I would give him $500 as a paddock bomb.

If he kept it ORIGIONAL, priced it right, would have already sold

Butchered maybe, but at least it's not sitting in a paddock rusting away..

I'd pay 85k for it, I think it's done reasonably well!

ahhhh.... so you believe that if you spend $250000, its "worth" $250000???
Im not sure I follow your point?

There has never been a case of someone spending a lot of money on their car and then selling it to recover costs.... this concept isnt something new.

I spent over $15 000 restoring my XB (a fairmont) yet i know (much like most other people) that at best ill get $10000 for it.

I have never understood why some people get so bent out of shape about what others do with their own cars........

While i probably would not go down the same track, what others do with their own car is none of my buisiness and doesn’t concern me one iota...

As for the monetary loss in the build and sale, that’s just a given when involved in this type of activity, customising or restoring cars to this standard is akin to flushing $$$ down the toilet.......but that’s not the point of the exercise is it....

Good luck to them on the sale.....

Very easy to spend that sorta coin on a car of that calibre
A decent paint job of the elite size will see a good chunk of 50K gone
Then youll have the parts bought or sourced that didnt work or didnt suit and then repurchased
Look at how many spend money on silly things for their cars , and then expect their beauty to be nice for the future buyer
Yes it is a massive loss, but over the years perhaps it was built a bit here and there didnt hurt
Theres id say a very small minority that will get their full money back or even make a profit
The average punter always loose on cars

Am I missing something about this car? I think it looks great. Probably wouldn't pay the asking price for it, but I don't have that sort of disposable income so we'll never know.

Just thought its nice to see how much dedicated car guys spend on these types of elite cars as Street machine and co never quote even a gesstamate of how much is spent on some cars

The amount you spent,Jim Goose is more in my league to spend on restoring a car but it would be nice to have 250000 for a car! and no I dont think you would ever get it back

i like it - not what i would buy (it ain't a coupe), but it is very impressive

if you want original, go buy a camry - me, i like my cars the way "i" like them

and the best thing is, all the ford magazines can finally have a different looking car on the front cover. we all win - we see a different car - they still get an xy

I think a few people are forgetting that this not a 'daily driver' type of car, and it probably only gets driven on the street when loading it onto a trailer for the next car show.

It's not what I'd buy but there's some good workmanship gone into it.

You of course have a right to that opinion no matter how wrong you are , it's a tidy custom although I wonder about the money spent claims and certainly atm doesn't represent value imho but I quite like the style

Still a better return on investment than panel tv's, games consoles, $300 sneakers and the like (which is what most people **** their money away on)

I'd rather take a Mickey mouse K code GS, or a ratty X dub GT anyday though for the 80k

Lots of trophies don't mean jack

Just like lots of record sales don't make Justin Biebers music good

I can still appreciate the work gone in though and like has been said, better this than chooks be living in it out in the paddock
