Default GT Blue Power Dynode today

Took the 2004 BA GT in to be Flash tuned today. Had the Blue power induction box fitted by Craig and tuned by chris today. Very impressed with it and its power delivery through the range is awsome. The gear changing is so much smoother from first to secon, its like a new car. Any way many thanks to Craig at Aussie Car Enhanments and Chris at Blue Power Racing. Two very good blokes to deal with. Clutch and rip shifter next.
Dyno results on photobucket.

Was some guy in an VZ ss ute and we kinda played cat an mouse, both havin a grin and not really trying to out run each other but just a wee squirt on the throttle here and there. Any ways I am very impressed and I am looking forward to some further mods to boltser her up in the drive line department. Never no Chris I may sneak it into Calder on a friday night just to see what I can do.
A pleasure to meet you, thanks.

Cheers

15.2 was the final result in the tuning area, this car was fitted with a big boy Di Filippo system about 6 weeks ago and now it has Blue Power air box and custom flash tune.

Cheers Craig

Car was relatively cool with the before run, the car saw 279 on a couple of runs, but in checking how the environmental multipliers affect the car in reducing spark when they need to, we like to keep them on their toes.

we can let the car cool and see a graph in the mid 280's but its not our style - we give people a dyno sheet that reflect the minimum output.

Im not starting the dyno argument, the results are determined at the blacktop, and I like to think I have a healthy claim there.

You need to understand kw's aint everything to a good tune, everyone is so caught up on dyno figures when its been explained many times that dyno's are only a "tuning tool". Most tuners will get very similar "maximum" power figures but other factors like torque how much and where it is plays a huge factor into a good tune. Some cars might get small gains (due to already close to optium from factory tune) where other will get big gains and
with Chris's tuning that 290 would be a monster on the street, his results to date speak volumes.

Theres been a few 290's claiming more power than my car shows on the dyno, but as yet none have matched the track performance.

As mentioned allready dynos are a great tuning tool.

They are some excellent numbers, congratulations GT290! Bluepower and ACE have done a great job. Would you see such numbers on a similarly modded XR8? ie. bigboy difillipo, bluepower airbox and custom tune??

depending upon particular vehicle (they all seem to vary a little) you normally see around 200-215 stock, also dependant on klms, after bolt-ons, generally 240-255.

we have seen the odd car in the high 250's low 260's but they are the exception rather than the rule.

our 280 rwkw cars all run 114-116mph in a 3800lb car, which would indicate the dyno does read a little low.

Mine ran 114mph with a dyno reading of 264rwkw, for a 12.60 So I agree 100%, it's a conservative total, with a nice surprise. Well done Chris.

Just out of interest, what dose your car show?

I have never been to a drag strip in my life but would like to give it a shot. I will say though that this car gives me far more enjoyment out on the country roads with loads of corners. and the power that forces me further into that leather seat is just awsome when I kick it back to over take. Its up there in the mid to top end where I enjoy it and have fun. I hate stop go round town and at the moment cant wait for some time off to go bush with it now that its had the tune. I have a bit more further down now for those extra tight corners on the hills.

Just like to say thanks to all of you for your great comments and hope to meet some of you some time. I have just joind the Vic XR & FPV car club so that I could go this week end to some thing they have on, not sure where but looking ford to it. My shift pattern has just changed, but normally I would not be able to get to these things, even calder friday nights. I worked a very anti social roster but now at least once a fortnight I can get to some things that are going on and enjoy my car more.
:
Cheers
Kevin
