Hey Everyone,
Is Anyone else into this hobby of Nitro RC Monster Trucks or Cars? I used to take mine to a proper track made for it until they banned Big Block Engines(haha .28ci is big block) because we tore up the track(true but still) Now i just take it to an open grass area or do full throttle runs up and down my street ...cars are fun to dodge and chase down the road :evil3: The Giga Crusher(has scoop) can sit behind cars at 60km/h and have alot more to go...90km/h. The Mammoth(thats its name i dont just call it that) one doesnt have the top speed like that one maybe 60-70km/h The Giga has a .28ci engine in it 3sp automatic, 3sp in reverse as well, Neutral makes it very easy to start and warm up the motor.and its pretty much bulletproof. I have taken the rear silencer off as it sounds better and runs better. The Mammoth one has a .25 engine, 2sp auto, just forward no reverse or neutral, brakes when u look at it... they run on 15% Nitro 70% Metho and 15% oil. Very fun I also have a little road car that i use as a burnout car because the motor is stuffed, and no the motor isnt stuffed because i use it as a burnout car i used it a rc car race track it was because it was my first car and i didnt take the time to run it in properly...ive been trying to blow it up, doesnt wana, ive stredded tyres down to rims : . Road Car = Pirtek V8 supercar body Mammoth = Ford BA Blue XR8 Ute Body Giga = Effy Body road car had the worst run in procedure ever(30 pulls to start) mammoth had a reasonable run in procedure(5-10 pulls) Giga has the best run in procedure ever possible(1 start if primed properly 2 if not) road car was my first, mammoth my second and giga my third.

I have a 1/5 scale Lowndes HRT Commodore, 1/8 scale Colin McCrae WRX rally car, had a home built 1/4 scale sprint car but I'm currently building a 1/3 scale speedcar which will use many of the sprint car parts.

ive got a nitro car the exact same as your road car w/ ambrose shell. except mine is in ute from with all the pirtek gear on it lol.
something is amiss with it though. its gone predominantly rear wheel drive. i pulled the front diff apart. a ok. the only other thing ive noticed is that the long drive belt is a bit stretched. so i thinking maybe its just slipping on the drive gears?

Geoff, where did you get your monster truck? I want to get one but it has to actually look like the real thing, not one of the low wide racing style like adrianb has (no offence).
I used to have an RC Moster truck magazine and I still remember one of them was nitro engined, with either dual or quad oil filled suspension and proper 4 wheel steering. Now thats the sort of RC truck I'm looking for.

Just in case no one has noticed, the scoop is connected to the carby and isnt one of those fake ones for looks, i dont know if makes for more performance but i think it does as the faster u go the more air gets pushed through but im not sure

The 4-wheel steering models are usually used for 'crawling' where you try do like trials stuff and climb big rocks. Most of the crawlers are electric. The Losi LST has a spot for a steering servo for rear-wheel steering but takes a little work to set up.

basically we bought it in the box, it had a bent axle and no body (both of which were chucked in free anyways, so go figure) everything was brand new. |

I don’t have a hobby of such with nitro cars, but at school my systems engineering teacher got me into hydrogen cars, I fiddle with those every now and then, still waiting for my hydrogen cell and engine to come from the ACT., so I can start Building a 4wd out of it.
