Well what I have suspected all along has been confirmed by the experts. In an article in the SMH friday 30/09/05 and published on the drive.com.au site the following is one of the ten tips to avoid carjacking :hihi: ;
Minimise your appeal. "The type of vehicle being driven plays a large part in whether it's a target or not. The bad guys don't tend to car-jack slow cars. A white Toyota Camry is probably the world's best defence against car-jacking." That does it my phoon is staying in the garage :yeees: cheers Peter

Well carjackings wouldn't be a problem if Governments and Police used all their powers to crack down on it!!! Oh yeh, I forgot, they're too busy hiding behind bushes with radar guns :yeees:

If they want the car, they'll just smash the windows to get you out.
Usually they only end up being used to commit other crimes anyway, so they don't give a rats about the window, especially when it's most likely they will torch it afterwards.

Maybe toyota should start a marketing campagne advertising that fact.
Best idea is to stop a good distance from the car infront at the traffic lights, then you can atleast try to get away. and i would say a typhoon or similar would have enought power to simply power away if someone tried to jack it. |
