Default WT Fiesta Tyres

Hi guys,

I dont believe this topic has really been covered. I am up for Tyres on my Zetec Fiesta. The original continentals have been really good. great in the wet and dry, pretty quiet. However at $200 each, it hurts.

My tyre guy doesnt think anything else will give me the same levels of grip or noise levels, and reluctantly said i am better off with going new continentals again, due to the lack of tyres available for the size.

Any input on what you have all tried?

Thanks guys.

Last few posts on this page.
The ones I put on certainly aren't made to be screamers. But they grip well in the wet and last a long time.
The bridgestones that BrisVegas put on might be more to your liking.

Q for BrisVegas.
As you changed the stock profile from 50 to 45, without changing the rim diameter, has there been an effect on your speedometer!
Considering the stock car is 5-7 kms under actual speed when measured by GPS, has this improved or worsened the accuracy?

Yes they are quiet. I've got two kids in the back most times though so take my comments with a grain of salt. Oh and my other car is a pajero on AT Bridgestone Duelers! :-)

I haven't had a chance to check the speedo since changing tyres but I suspect they will be closer to accurate than they were. It was miles out previously.

I've done a bit if research. Bridgestone adrenalins aren't available for a wt fiesta because they are a different size. They only do a turanza er33 in wt size. Anyone had experience with these at all?

If you look at the original link I posted you will see that BrisVegas used a different size for his Zetec.

Here's his post;
Quote:
Treated the Fez to some shiny new boots. Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 in size 205/45R16. $190 a corner and only had to pay for 3 of them with the current Bridgestone 4 for 3 promotion. Interestingly they didn't jack up the price for the promotion either as i had been told the same price a few months back when I enquired.

I was wanting 195/50 profile to put a little more rubber under it, but the 205/45 was a much more common size and therefore a bit cheaper. One pleasant surprise was that the tyre shop didn't discover any more buckled rims this time. I've already bought a second set of used Zetec rims to find 4 decent ones and was nervous they'd find one of the "good" 4 was now damaged.
Note also that his is a 3 door. Shouldn't matter though.

Alright thanks. I'm waiting on the tire guys opinion on the turanzas. They have the same promotion now. 4 for the price of 3. I'll see what he says. I've had crap tyres before and found then quite scary, especially in the wet.

Thanks for your replies

Yeah, sorry I wasn't keen on Turanza's, hence me looking at the 205/45 size to get into the Potenzas.

Hey All,
Sorry to bump an old thread, but it applies to me.
I have a 2012 WT 1.6 TDCi Zetec, currently wearing 195/50/16 Continentals with 35000km on them.
I am looking at new tyres and was thinking of going to 205/50/16, and as this is the 2nd car of the family, I have to be budget conscious.
Are there any recommendations in the $150 or less bracket? Bob Jane have recommended Zetum Sport (apparently former Kuhmo design) for $115 fitted and balanced.
Thanks.

I'll go again for the Goodyear Assurance boots.
As linked in my earlier post.
Since fitting them to the Fiesta I have also fitted them to the Toyota.
Both cars are solid on the road in all conditions. Very pleased with them for the price.
Should get four under $600 easily. Though both sets I bought were in the four for three deal.

P.S. You can/must find a better dealer than Bob Jane. They deal with way to many "dumped" tyre stocks that they push without your best interests at heart.

I ended up getting the same continentals again. I know they are good and i stuck with them. I managed to get my local Jaxx tyres down to about $175 each fitted and balanced.

Unfortunately they have already copped a battering from a road trip and a performance driving course hehe.

Kevino, my WT has 35K on it now with the original Conti's (a lot of highway travel on Qld roads).
At my last service, Ford said I had 5mm on the front and 8mm on the rears, and it has had two roations that I know of ( I am 2nd owner).

I got about 33K out of my Conti's on my WS before I swapped them out, they had a little more left on them but I thought I'd change them out as I already had the new tyres here.

Good tyres I'll probably go another set of the original Conti's when these Kuhmo KU31s eventually wear out.

Run them at 36psi and you will get a lot more wear out of them. Factory spec is too low.

Wife got 60,000 thou out of the original contis
