Hey team,
Been a while since I've played with an E-series, so I was looking for a bit of a price check. Steering box/rack replacement on an EB V8? Difficult job? Costly parts? Looking at a car that has a PS leak from the box or rack... Thanks guys Nick

EA-EL's dont have a steering box, the steering shaft connects directly to the rack.
As for price, I believe V8 racks are different to I6 ones which normally means big dollars. I remember I heard around $1500 for a new one from Ford. Repco sell re-co racks, it might be worth giving them a call too. Depending on where the leak is, you could get it fixed with new seals and a fluid flush. The other cheaper option is to pick a 2nd hand one up from a wreckers or wrecked car.

Sounds cheap... Repco quoted me $472 on a changeover V8 rack... plus fitting of christ knows how much...
Will keep that in mind, Simmo!
