Hey all,
I'm looking around at some series III, and a couple of series II, XR8 sedans and have a few shortlisted, but curious about some things. The Tickford engine covers, are they plastic, metal, or a mix of both (as with the EB series)? Secondly, one of the cars I have my eye on is a series III with the 'REBEL' style body kit, and has a towbar. I would want to get rid of the towbar and I'm wondering if an insert piece has ever been available to fill the gap in the middle of the rear bar? lastly, are the front lip add on pieces, under either side, individually removable so they can be rubbed and repainted without respraying the entire front bar (these are both pretty scuffed up on one of the vehicles)? Thanks in advance.

The cover are all plastic (I think)
You can't get an insert for the rebel rear bar, you could try plastic welding but I don't this will work very well.. Yes you can take the pods off to paint them. Hope this helps |

That's what I thought, thanks for confirming. It just means painting rather than polishing, or chroming.

That's what I was hoping for, so I can get them touched up. Thanks for that.

The chances of finding a rear bar are slim, but everything comes up eventually.
I can give you the number of a mate that wreacks AU xr's, he's a good bet for getting you one. |
