I'm tipping the charcoal canister.

I'll wait for the Windsor boys to confirm!

GK is on the money, also know as the home of the "Tickford Tick"

Just join them back together, you could end up with fumes in the cabin if not

Most of the AU V8s have a ticking noise coming from under the left guard. This is from the Charcoal canister as it has a solenoid attached. You won't here it from in the cab, but with the motor running (after a while on mine), you can hear the tick from outside the car. You maybe lucky and still have a silent one?

I haven't really noticed. I'll have to pay more attention lol. The reason I asked, if both my old EF Tickford Ghias had a weird ticking noise coming from the front left guard...but they were loud enough to hear in the car. Was weird. They were both 6 cylinders though

Yep the tick never was there whilst the car was a 6. Bloody noisy as an 8 though. One of the wrecks I had they'd wrapped it in a rag to quieten it down. I will definitely be doing this on mine!!
