I have noticed that my rear rotors are dull, on closer inspection it doesnt look like the pads are marking the rotors at all. Now I upgraded to Tickford premium brakes recently, but the red rears were definatly bitting on the TS (where i took them from), but this was going on evern before i swapped the calipers so its not a caliper issue imo.
I put new pad in on the weekend and went to bed them in, with heavy braking, i only got slight marking on the rotors. the pistons do move in and out with the pedal, so no problem there. just wonder if anyone else has noticed this or had this problem?

I've noticed that previously with surface rust or when i painted the rotors, that it does take a very long time for it to come off (AU1 ute with AU2 fronts).
A BA/BF master cylinder would get the rears working more, as they are more balance in volume between front to rear. I don't think my solution of installing adjustable brake bias is the easier/every day option Cheers

i might stick my finger on the rears after a few stops to see if its hot or not. in the TS at track days i got the rears alsmost blue so they do get a work out, but the XR8 just doesn't seem to using them much. the car stops on a dime though so would be surprised if rears are completely idle. but that is a good suggestion about the BA master cylinder. could stuffed seals in the master cyclinder plunger casue a bypass and hence not enough rear pressure?
