Default This will make you cry!

http://www.coloradomustang.com/yard.html

Speaks for itself really.... There's some stuff in there that is becoming very collectable these days.... ie: 67 fastbacks, converts etc.

What sort of freight costs would there be in bringing 2000 cars home? :voldar02:

theres a few fastbacks in there... yellow one in the 2nd picture, and 2 more next to it.

They're not much over there... pretty much on par with XD/XE here

Some pretty reasonable looking shells there. I guess it just shows how many of them there are in the states for there to be a yard this big.

A good Mustang will cost you just about the same in US dollars over there as it will cost you here in AUS dollars. The price of them has gone through the roof over there in recent years.I have a brother that lives in Maine and has been keeping an eye out for a 69-70 Mach1 for the past couple of years and the way the prices have gone up I've given up on looking over there and will just buy one here.As for the price of restorable ones thats another matter. If you could lay your hands on a 67 fastback you would be laughing as they are like rocking horse sh t as they are being bought up for 500 k Elanor replicas. The prices they are asking for those restorable cars is just insane. And the work involved for the restoration is unbelievable.

rapid xr8- thats the part that brought a tear to my eye, seeing a few 67/8 fastbacks in there, that would be restorable.

It's a hell of a lot better than the alternative, which is having the cars get crushed before anybody has had a chance to pull any parts off them.

About 6 years ago I was touring the states & came across a wrecker in Grants New Mexico that had a 73 fastback mustang with 351 clevland mtr for $1,500US a 73 Plymouth Roadrunner with 440 B/Block Manual for about the same or a little dearer but I was real keen on the 70 Buick GSX for $6,500US but I didn't have the time & could not afford to buy it & ship to Australia. All 3 of these cars are much more valuable today plus a pic of some more older cars laying about. You have to look but there are still wreckers over there with some older good cars to restore only prob is there are many others looking for them at reasonable prices.

Keep your Mustangs... give me a few days with my tools and I'd rather go nuts on these:

http://www.coloradomustang.com/yard0...4/DCP_3899.JPG

And it's much better than places like this exist rather than scrapping the older cars. It's sad that so many old cars end up this way, but it helps keep the others on the road, not to mention that it's such damn good fun going to pick-a-parts and loading up with goodies.

I would prefer to be able to get the parts I need from the local wrecker, but since they now skip the wrecking stage and go straight to the crushing stage, I now have to go searching on ebay or drive hundreds of kilometres.
